What to Do When You Feel Ill

Before Coming to Work

When you feel ill, report it to your supervisor.
In particular, if you have symptoms indicative of influenza or COVID-19 (fever of 37.5°C or higher, cough, chills, etc.), it is recommended that you do not start work and instead seek medical attention after reporting to your supervisor.

When Diagnosed with Seasonal Influenza

Employees diagnosed with influenza are suspended from work until five days have passed from the day after the onset of illness (fever) and two days have passed from the day after the fever subsides.
When at work after this period, wear a mask if you have a cough or other symptoms.

When Diagnosed with COVID-19

If you or a person living with you has COVID-19, do not go to work. Contact you supervisor as specified in the guidelines below.

  • When you have COVID-19:
Do not work until five days have passed from the day after the onset of illness and 24 hours have passed since symptoms have improved.
When at work after this period, wear a mask until 10 days have passed since the onset of illness.
  • When a person living with you has COVID-19:
When at work, wear a mask until seven days have passed since the onset of the illness of the person living with you.
  • Specific symptoms and countermeasures vary by pathogen; SCREEN’s fever-related criteria and work suspension periods may be set or adjusted accordingly. Details will be provided via company notices when outbreaks occur.
