Reporting Whether You Are Safe to the Company

When Reporting is Required

  • After earthquakes of 5 Upper or above on the JMA Seismic Intensity Scale
  • After other damage or impacts

How to Report

  • Contact your designated emergency contact person (phone, email)
  • When the safety reporting system is unavailable, these means are used for all safety confirmation
  • Reply using the safety confirmation system

What to Report (Proactively report to your designated emergency contact person!)

  • Whether you are safe (hurt or unhurt)
  • Whether your family is safe (all unhurt, some hurt, unknown)
  • Whether you can come to work (can, cannot, unknown)
  • Other pertinent information (how to contact you, etc.)

Reporting on Your Safety via the Safety Confirmation System

  • When a disaster occurs, such as an earthquake anywhere in Japan of 5 Upper or above on the JMA Seismic Intensity Scale, the system will send you a request for safety confirmation.
  • Employees must then reply to the request for safety confirmation. If there is no reply, repeated requests will be sent to the individual’s registered means of emergency contact until a reply is received.
  • Always keep your contact information up to date in the safety confirmation system (Emergency Call)!

How to Reply

  • App: Reply by selecting one of the options at the bottom of the screen and pressing “Reply”
  • Email: Read the email carefully and click on the link to reply via the webpage.
    Note: The method of replying to the email with a single-character email to indicate your status is no longer in use; please do not use this method.

Role of Managers

  • Managers should check the replies of their team members via the safety confirmation system (Emergency Call) and follow up with anyone who has not replied.
